50's Bowling + Diner Girl's Night

Dressing up for any occasion is always fun, but I have to admit themed outings/parties are my absolute favorite! A few days ago we planned for our 11-15 year old girls to have a bit of fun, and let's face it, anytime you mix teenage girls and dressing up, it will be a winning combination. We went for a 50's themed bowling night and had dinner at Blue Ribbon Diner (perfect setting for pictures obv). The girls had fun with their get-ups, some went with the greaser look, others for the more classic, and it was absolutely perfect! I love each and everyone of you!

Summer Time, Sunshine, & Skies

{You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop}

Last summer my cousins and I tried planning a little weekend get-away without any success. This year, I went ahead and booked the room, and made sure to tell them that if they ditched me last minute, I was still going by myself. Luckily for me, they did all go and managed to get time off of work! We had soooo much fun!! I'm considering making this a tradition and having fun cousin get-aways more often. My 3 cousins and sister packed into my car friday and off we went to the beach! I mean what better location is there to relax and have some fun? We enjoyed all of the tasty local eateries, blasted the music with the windows down, and worked on our tans.

Parasailing was also on my list of things to do and it was a blast experiencing it with these gals! I was expecting it to be a little more scary or stressful, but it surprised me that I felt so safe and relaxed up in the air! We were about 6 miles off the coast and the water's cerulean tinge was beautiful. There was a bit of rain in the evenings but that did not stop us from shopping and exploring throughout the evening. We watched the sky turn all shades of pretty cotton candy colors and walked by the shore at night, where you feel like you can escape anything.

How cute are they, right? Spending quality time together with your extended family is such an immediate way to make any day brighter. At least in my case it was. These beauties had me laughing the entire ride there and back. I had the best time by the sea with my Cervantes gals.

Poem

Sometimes the ache is worse than the actual wound.

The wound may be healed over and pink,

but the ache lingers on for weeks.

You pull and you tug at the stitches,

holding it all in and sealed,

and yet you cry when it hurts,

because there's no outlet for what you feel.

Memorial Day 2016

What started out as a weekend meant for reading books indoors, and catching up on homework assignments while waiting out the rain, turned out to be a buy-a-raincoat-because-we-are-still-hiking-in-the-rain kind of weekend. I was planning on sleeping in just a little and instead I am up before the sun, and crossing town to meet up for breakfast. Our group of 13 was the best exploring group we could have had!

How dreamy are these shots? Totes dreamy. We could easily be atop the mountains in Taiwan. I simply love North Carolina. I actually expected rainy weather the entire day and I was mentally prepared for a wet drippy hike, so the actual nice weather and fog was a pleasant surprise and readily welcomed! When we made it to the top we were enveloped in a white cloud of fog and mist it felt like we were in heaven. Everything was bright and clear and the pictures were way cooler than last time because of the fog.

From rock climbing, to modeling sessions, and waterfalls, we did it all. I love my people and I love the memories we made on this trip. Major Props for making it to the tippity top guys @ Eli, Tiko, Jairo, Sammy, Alex, Joey, Gris, Jordan, Elia, Astrill, Jenny, and Evelin!
